TIM was first to launch LTE in Bozen. 17 Basestations with the Prefix 7003XX and 7002XX where planed but due Permisson Problems with Stadtgemeinde Bozen only few where launched in July of 2013. Some where launched even 3 jears after. Two of those Basestations where already shutdown and replaced with 4G+ Basestations with higher eNodeB IDs.<br />
Tim uses 3/4 available LTE bands in Bozen, for 1800 Tim partialy reuses old GSM DCS antennas, for 800 and 2600 they had to change theyr Antennas. On newer eNodeBs RRUs are used. The Basestations are connected over both Fiber Optic Cables and Microwave Link.

Bozen has a total of 41 BTS from which 34 Broadcast GSM, 38 UMTS and 24 LTE.

Used Frequencies
Tim uses B8-900 MHz for GSM, B1-IMT2100 MHz for UMTS and B20-EDD800 MHz, B3-DCS1800 MHz and IMTE-2600 MHz for LTE.

GSM Radio Basestations
Tim launched GSM arround 1995-2000, Most Basestations broadcasted 1800 and 900 MHz GSM. In 2016 Tim shut down most 1800 MHz GSM Cells to upgrade LTE1800 from 15 to 20 MHz Bandwith, the one DCS GSM tower left now broadcasts on two remaining Channels which LTE1800 doesn't occupie.

UMTS Radio Basestations
Tim UMTS was launched in the years 2003, arround 2005 Tim build lots of new Rooftop towers to match the rising demand for UMTS. Tim is the only provider which has no UMTS900 in Bozen.

LTE Radio Basestations
Tim uses TAC 15811 and 15812 for Bozen.

In Bozen there are 24 LTE Basesations:
22 BTS broadcast 1800 MHz, 6 with CA.
6 BTS broadcast 800 MHz, 4 with CA 800 + 1800.
2 BTS broadcast 2600, both with CA 1800 + 2600.
