Freedom Mobile (formerly WIND Mobile) is a Canadian UMTS/LTE provider on the AWS Band 4 and 66. Their network code is 490.
Network
2009 - 2015
In Western Canada, primary equipment was Alcatel-Lucent 9341 RRH40-AWS RRH and RFS APXV18-206516S antennas. In Eastern Canada, Huawei equipment is primarily used.
2016 - Present
WIND has started upgrading all sites to Nokia gear and is in the process of building its Band 66 (AWS-3) LTE network starting in Vancouver and Toronto. The network is 4x4 MIMO capable and uses Nokia FRIx (ie FRIE) series RRHs.
