Mālpils Bite Cell Tower [EN]

As of July 17, 2024, the Mālpils Bite Cell Tower is undergoing significant upgrades. The enhancements include the following:

Additional Bands:

Band 1 (B1) has been extended beyond the town center. Band 28 (B28) has been newly added.

5G NSA (Non-Standalone) Upgrades:

Antennas are being upgraded to support 5G NSA, most likely utilizing Bands 3 (B3) and 20 (B20).

5G Support:

Introduction of 5G n77 or n78 support in areas with higher user density. These upgrades are expected to substantially enhance both 4G and 5G services provided by the tower. Users could experience speeds reaching or exceeding 1 Gbit (1000 Mbps). However, areas like Bukas village on the Mālpils side may not receive 5G n77 or n78 coverage due to lower demand.

The introduction of Band 28 (700 MHz) on 4G LTE is anticipated to improve coverage in regions previously experiencing instability. This is because Band 28 operates in the 700 MHz spectrum, offering better range and penetration compared to the previously lowest Band 20 (900 MHz).

2024. gada 17. jūlijā Mālpils Bite tornis tiek būtiski uzlabots. Uzlabojumi ietver:

Papildu Bands:

Band 1 ir paplašināta ārpus pilsētas centra. Band 28 ir pievienots no jauna.
