The site was built by broadcasting company SDR (now SWR) in 1977 as TV transmitter relay for Waldenbuch and Glashütte. Until shutdown of terrestrial analog TV in 2006 it transmitted station ''Das Erste'' on channel 6. Beam directions and polarizations were 80° horizontal, 165° horizontal, 280° circular and 345° horizontal. The signal was sourced from master transmitter Stuttgart (Fernsehturm) on Channel 11, thus the receiving antenna was pointing to 11°.

The site was built by broadcasting company SDR (now SWR) in 1977 as TV transmitter relay for Waldenbuch and Glashütte. Until shutdown of terrestrial analog TV in 2006 it transmitted station Das Erste on channel 6. Beam directions and polarizations were 80° horizontal, 165° horizontal, 280° circular and 345° horizontal. The signal was sourced from master transmitter Stuttgart (Fernsehturm) on Channel 11, thus the receiving antenna was pointing to 11°.

Since end of the 1990's the pole was also used by E-Plus for a GSM repeater on 1800 MHz (getting its signal from the BTS located on Waldenbuch's Seitenbachhalde) und finally has been converted to an adequate cell site by successor operator Telefónica in 2020. A microwave link to Waldenbuch Fernmeldeturm (195°) serves as backhaul connection.

Today the site is still owned by SWR, although they aren't using it anymore for own radio purposes.
