Cellmapper FAQs

Q: I uploaded some data points, but I don't see my contributions on the map. Did something go wrong?

A: Likely not. New cells and polygons will typically appear on the map anywhere from a few minutes after upload to a few hours. Trails typically take anywhere from a few hours (for a small/lightly mapped carrier) to several weeks (for a heavily mapped carrier such as T-Mobile) to process.

Carolina West Wireless (310-130)

General Information

Carolina West Wireless is a small regional carrier, providing service in eleven western North Carolina counties. Carolina West is also a LTEiRA partner with Verizon and thus provides coverage for Verizon customers on certain towers in Alleghany, Ashe, Wilkes, and Surry counties.

Nearly all Carolina West sites in Ashe, Alleghany, Avery, Surry, and Watauga counties transmit B5. Select sites may also include B4, B12, B66, and B71. Sites in Alexander and Caldwell include the aforementioned bands, excluding B5. Sites in Burke, Catawba, Cleveland, and Rutherford counties currently only have B4 deployed.

Carolina West Wireless eNB format: 80xxxx

eNB splits will have the same eNB with only the third number changed (i.e. 802267 is a split of 801267)

If a Carolina West tower is a CWW+Verizon site, both the 310-130 and 311-480 cells will have the same PCIs. This is a good way to match sites between the two carriers and pin them to their correct locations.
